Project Overview

Company Background

Véra
(Pronounced: VAY-rah)
From the Latin verus, meaning “true.” Short, modern, and memorable — a name that reflects authenticity and self-expression.

Véra is a clean, minimalist makeup brand born out of a need for transparency, simplicity, and truth in the beauty industry. It’s designed for the modern minimalist: someone who values quality over quantity, is conscious of what they put on their skin, and believes in enhancing—not masking—their natural features. Véra is not about trends. It’s about timeless essentials. It’s not about perfection. It’s about honesty, confidence, and clean beauty.

Tagline: True Beauty, Simplified.

  • Create a brand identity for the skincare brand, Véra. This is a clean, all-natural, minimalist brand that derives its clean ingredients from seaweed and kelp to give their clients hydrated, smooth, and natural skin. Focusing primarily on package design, the brand would like to stick with soft neutrals (stone, ivory, muted taupe), off-blacks, and warm sand tones.

Include as much or as little text as you want. Tabs grow and shrink vertically to fit your text. Each tab can have a different height and look.

Problem:

How can Véra define its brand identity and express its background in sustainable and naturally derived seaweed and sea kelp, while also standing out on the shelves amongst competitors?

Project Conclusion

Véra Skincare

As someone who has worked in the beauty industry for over a decade, I've had the opportunity to experience many skincare brands. As a graphic designer, I've noticed a lean towards more minimalist packaging, to the point where many brands share a similar apothecary feel. I wanted to give Véra a clean look that represented the brand without making it blend in on the shelves. This was a really fun project to work on, and it let me blend my two great loves, design and beauty.
